The birds are singing,
The sky is bright.
The sun is shining,
I’m feeling alright!
-Pete the Cat
Today in Foundation Stage, the children listened to the story Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses. In the story, Pete learns that he doesn't need special glasses to make him feel happy, which was the message shared with our youngest students. They also learned how a happy attitude can be infectious and how our actions can help other people feel happy, too.
Afterwards, the children were charged with drawing a ‘sunshine’ picture to send to residents at a local nursing home. Unfortunately, many residents are reportedly feeling sad and isolated as they are not able to leave their rooms.
Hopefully our youngest learners put a smile on their faces! Meanwhile, the children learned an important lesson in spreading good cheer and sunshine by doing kind things for others.
