IB DP ART Exhibition Year 13 Artists will reach the end of their Visual Arts journey in the next month or so, the first deadline will be their exhibition, held in social space in Oaks from Monday 28th March to Friday 1st April 2022.

Year 13 Artists will reach the end of their Visual Arts journey in the next month or so, the first deadline will be their exhibition, held in social space in Oaks from Monday 28th March to Friday 1st April 2022.

All staff and students will have the opportunity to see the work for one week, we have Primary teachers who are also keen to show their students the work. It is great for the community to see this. An exhibition is an important part of the I.B. Diploma process, student’s sharing their artwork, the act of curation – students consider the experience of the viewer, how they can create a story with their artwork. The Artist is responsible for creating this experience, they are in control.

This is the first Visual Arts Diploma exhibition we have held in the last 3 years, as COVID rules and being in virtual school at this time the last 2 years created problems in the past. The other exhibitions were virtual/digital.

We have a CAS/Music/Art celebration on Tuesday 29th March involving all Year 13 students, the work will be featured in this, along with some of the Artist’s words on their theme and intention behind their work.

Each year, the theme of the exhibition is chosen by the students, this year we have Personal growth, Covid experiences, Judgement, Modern life, Conflict.

After the exhibition, the students’ have two weeks to complete their Comparative Study and Process Portfolio to fulfill all elements of their course. They have worked very hard over the last two years and I wish them well in the future.
