The Big Challenge

We are so excited that our Make It Right project is still moving forward and we have some exciting fundraising news. The recent gallery exhibition of Year 5 work at the Zoya Gallery has raised over €200 for the Kramare refurbishment project. Thank you to the Year 5 children and staff and a huge thank you to Mrs Ledecka who made the Second Annual Zoya Gallery Exhibition happen.

The Big Challenge

We are so excited that our Make It Right project is still moving forward and we have some exciting fundraising news. Thank you to the Year 5 children and staff and a huge thank you to Mrs Ledecka who made the Second Annual Zoya Gallery Exhibition happen.

You may also have seen our children playing with game cards over the last week. We have used the children’s art work from our Day of Rights and made them into a great game which spreads the message of rights for all as well as being fun to play. Thank you to all the keen, entrepreneurial sellers who have been helping to sell the cards at break times and lunch times. We still have packs available for 5 € each.

Art Exhibition & Presentation to Kramare

On Friday 26th June we will be welcoming representatives of Kramare hospital along with parents and reporters from JOJ TV to an exhibition of Art Work produced by Year 9 students. This work – which is part of a project undertaken annually by Year 9 – will be gifted to the Orthopaedic Ward to help enhance the environment of the areas we have undertaken to help renovate and improve. We look forward to sharing photographs of the events on Twitter with you and, of course, look out for a report on the JOJ TV news.

The Global Orchestra

We are immensly proud of our 3 students – Hoda, Jason and Jenny – who flew out of Vienna on June 24th bound for New York and a week of intensive music workshops, working at the world famour Juilliard School and performing in 2 high profile performances! The students, along with Mrs Eliska Hatinova, have been involved in a busy round of rehearsals to prepare them for the work ahead. They will, no doubt, have an incredible experience and all have voiced their excitement at the opportunity to study at Juilliard and spend time with others who, as Jason expresses it “share the same passion for music”.

Video and photographs of their preparation before departure and after arrival in New York can be seen on our Global Classroom Twitter feed.

The Debate League

We are equally proud to announce our Year 9 team of debaters – King Khaled’s Minions – were finalists and overall runners-up in the 2nd Nord Anglia Debate League Championship, a title we won last year. In a busy period which involved our team members in International Award visits and a hectic rehearsal and performance schedule of Shakespeare, including the performance at the British Embassy, it was a challenge for the team to find the time to collaborate, research and participate in the debate, yet they rose to this challenge and gave a good account of themselves.

Well done King Khaled’s Minions!

In just over a week some of our students will depart to the Swiss Alps to participate in the First Nord Anglia Education week long Alpine Mountaineering Expedition! Meeting with students from our schools from around the globe this unique expedition will give students the opportunity to develop a range of skills whilst travelling through an Alpine environment. They will be summiting peaks and crossing glaciers and staying in remote alpine huts! They will face personal challenges, both physical and mental, and grow in self-confidence and resilience.

You will be able to follow along with their adventures via the BISB twitter feed @bisb_global and the Nord Anglia Expeditions Twitter @NAE_Expeditions
