BISB Welcomes New Director of Admissions And Marketing

Anique Seldon joined the British International School of Boston this week to serve as the Director of Admissions and Marketing. She comes to our school with a broad range of professional experiences. Read on for an introduction to the newest member of our Admissions team!
Anique Seldon joins the British International School of Boston after working for two years in the admissions office at Fay School, in Southborough, MA. Her professional career, however, actually began in law.
Mrs. Seldon was born in Scotland, and later moved to England. She attended college in Wales, and went on to practice pharmaceutical liability after gaining her legal qualifications. Mrs. Seldon was awarded a position in New York, working as an intern at a law firm.
While in the U.S., Mrs. Seldon also volunteered as the Assistant Director of an AIDS Foundation and, upon her return to the U.K., she assumed the role as chief executive of the Alzheimer's research organization, C.A.R.E.
In 2011, Mrs. Seldon moved to the United States to marry an American she met during her time in New York. After a year of working to determine the next step in her career, she decided to pursue a job in private school admissions.
"I was trying to use the skills I had already learned and was looking for a good fit," she said. "A lot of my friends said they thought admissions would be perfect. It sounded really interesting to me."
Mrs. Seldon began working at Fay School in 2012, and soon grew to love working in admissions. Now, she said, she hopes to bring this same love to her new role at the British International School of Boston.
"I love the interaction with families," she said. "It feels like I'm really working for a purpose. Private school education did a lot for me, it really changed the course of my life. So to be able to help facilitate the same experience for students is great."
Mrs. Seldon said she is looking forward to bringing her professional experiences and passion for education to the British International School of Boston. Going forward, she hopes to make the admissions process even easier for the school and its families.
"I want to ensure that the Admissions department is really part of the community," she said. "I want to be sure we're working not just on bringing kids into the school, but continuing to work with them once they're here."
