Over the last few weeks, over 40 children from Year 6 have participated in the House Captain selection process.
This role offers children the opportunity to develop a range of skills, including their ability to lead and motivate others whilst representing their Houses throughout the year. Being a Primary House leader plays an important role, fostering school spirit that enables positive growth and development for all Primary students and promoting the sense of belonging.
Earlier in the term, Miss Goodwin met with Year 6 students and shared a job description with them. All the children who wished to become a House Captain then applied with a letter explaining why they thought they were the best candidates for the role. Miss Goodwin and Miss Carmichael read these applications and invited those who were selected for an interview. The Secondary House Captains, Duc Minh, Van Anh, Minh Chau and Quang Huy, joined the teachers for the interviews. The applicants answered some questions to prove their knowledge, aspirations and skillset for the role. Their maturity and thoughtful responses impressed the interview panel.
Thank you to all students that were involved in the process this year. As always, each and every one of the Year 6 students that applied for the role should be extremely proud of themselves. After much deliberation due to the high quality of applications, we would like to congratulate our 2022-23 Primary House Captains: Miri, Ashton, Bay, Drew, Yuzuki, Hyolim, Bao Tran and Hohyeon.
We know they're all very excited to share their ideas and work with each other and the Secondary teams to create a fantastic year for our community.
We wish them a well year ahead.
