Dear Parents,
It was wonderful to welcome all our students back to school on Wednesday this week; the corridors were buzzing with excitement and anticipation as the familiar sound of students in school filled the hallways. There are always changes at the start of a new academic year, even when things are familiar, but the preparation made by all our campus staff has ensured a smooth transition this week.
We are delighted to welcome back returning students and offer a very warm BIS welcome to new families that have joined us this year. Our new students have settled in quickly and it is great to see new friendships forming already.
Keeping your children safe is our number one priority and teaching staff, along with our facilities team, continue to work hard to provide the safest education possible.
Our Primary Team are well-prepared for whatever challenges may come our way this academic year and parents will have the chance to hear more about this and daily school life, from Phase Leaders next week at the ‘Meet the Teacher’ online sessions.
We rounded off the week with our annual BIS House Sorting Assembly. New students were allocated into the House Teams of Hanoi, Hue, Dalat and Saigon. It is always an exciting event and despite the social distancing there was a wonderful atmosphere in the Phase Assemblies. House T-shirts are worn for PE as well as other House Events that take place throughout the year such House Sports, House Maths and House Steam events.
Well done everyone on a wonderful start to the year and wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
Rebecca Carroll
Head of Primary
We have had an action-packed agenda of inter-house activities, Christmas performances from Foundation Stage and Year 1, and today we had our Principal’s Award Assembly for the whole school.
I hope you have all had a good week and are beginning to get into the festive spirit ahead of the holiday season.
Thank you to all families who joined us to be entertained with our Secondary theatre production of A Little Shop of Horrors this week.
From Sunday onwards, we have had our CIS/WASC visiting team here at school. This has been a great opportunity to share all the wonderful things that we are providing for our students across all sections and to gain further insight and ideas to help us improve even further.
