This morning, BIS Hanoi celebrated two extraordinary academic achievements with Phuong Anh has been awarded the prestigious title of ‘Top in the World’ in IGCSE Maths and Bao Linh, Kim Ngan and Quynh Anh returned from Yale University with a plethora of medals of WSC Tournament of Champions.
Firstly, we invited three Year 9 students to share their World Scholar’s Cup story. Bao Linh, Quynh Anh and Kim Ngan began their journey at the regional qualifiers in Hanoi. Triumphing there, they then qualified for the global finals in the Philippines. Their outstanding performance in the global round won them a trip to Yale University, USA, for the World final. After 5 days of competition, the girls returned home with 9 silver medals and 3 golds. We are so proud of them!
What does it take to be the best mathematician in the world? You and I will never know. However, Year 11 BIS Hanoi student, Phuong Anh, knows exactly how it feels to be a world champion. Today, she was presented with her Cambridge International certificate for IGCSE Mathematics. Phuong Anh achieved the highest mark in the world, last summer. In over 4 hours of examinations at extended level, she did not make a single mistake. Her score of 100% demonstrated that she was the best student in the world for her age group, beating thousands of other students from the world’s best international schools to the coveted prize. Phuong Anh, we think you are amazing!
