BIS Hanoi at U15 FOBISIA Games

Today 24 students from our school took off to Phuket to participate in the U15 FOBISIA Games. 

It was a long travel day but it did not dampen the team spirit. Students and staff are very excited about the trip. After safely arriving at Thanyapura students enjoyed a meal and went to bed to ensure that they are ready for tomorrow. Students are excited and optimistic for the tournament. Day 1 will be Swimming and Athletics.

Day 1 (November 6, 2018):

Students started strong in the swimming meet in the morning. BIS Hanoi was regularly taking places on the podium. Most swimmers swam a personal best.

In the afternoon medals continued to flow, even the thundershower could not dampen the team spirit. Plenty of students received yet more medals in the various different events. 
The team is in high spirit for tomorrow when the boys will be on the basketball court and the girls on the football field. GO LIONHEARTS!!

Day 2 (November 7, 2018): Girls Football and Boys Basketball Tournaments
Promising start today for the boys and the girls as they won their first matches of each of their tournaments.

Team spirit was high as the boys and the girls had been supporting each other throughout the day. Both teams showed great resilience and determination in all matches.

At the end of the day, the girls finished in a respectable fourth position, only losing against the top two teams. The boys had a thrilling final match to determine who would be the gold medalists. A nail-biting finish, keeping our composure, the boys successfully brought the gold medals home for BIS Lionhearts!

Day 3 ( November 8, 2018): Girls Basketball and Boys Football Tournaments

The day started positive when both teams won their opening matches.

The girls lost their second match and had to show resilience and determination to fight back throughout the day. Their hard work paid off and they earned the third place afterall. 

The boys played consistently and had to keep their work rate up. At the end of the day, they secured the second place for the tournament. 

At the gala dinner, the results for the Swimming and Athletics were announced. BIS Lionhearts was in the fourth position for Athletics and the second for Swimming. 

Students enjoyed the rest of the evening with their new friends. Overall the team performed extremely well at a tough competition. We will be traveling back tomorrow with fond memories from this event.
