We champion STEAM subjects at North Broward Prep through fascinating in-classroom and beyond-the-classroom experiences, inspired and guided by word-class mentors and experts from MIT. In our robotics lab and MIT Makerspace, for example, our students strategically experiment and create new objects of their own invention, as they harness their critical thinking, teamwork, and collaboration skills. Our Eaglebotics competition team and Aviation Lab are just a few of the popular STEAM after-school activities where our students develop these skills further.
Whether our Lower Schoolers are participating in our MIT “Hack Challenge” or “Hello Ruby” Challenges on patterns and algorithms — or our Middle Schoolers are tackling computer science challenges for app development through “Navigating Tomorrow” — or our High Schoolers are learning scientific techniques to boost their photography — our collaboration with MIT at North Broward Prep runs strong throughout our curriculum, deeply enriching our course offerings.
Top experts affiliated with MIT and beyond have visited our school, incorporating initiatives like “Making Math Visible” within our math curriculum, where hands-on building and designing allows our students to understand aspects of math beyond the textbook.
