IB CAREER-RELATED PROGRAMME (IBCP)

Combining the academic rigour of the IB Diploma with practical, work-focused experiences, the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) unlocks our students’ personal and professional potential. Our young people complete a core IBCP programme, which includes service learning and a reflective project, and study three Diploma subjects. This develops a breadth of knowledge and skills, opening doors to higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.

The IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) is a comprehensive two-year course that equips our students with a wealth of 21st century attributes, specialist knowledge, and global understanding.


Working towards identified education and/or career pathways, our IBCP learners specialise in their chosen academic subjects, engage in learning that makes a positive difference, and think critically and creatively. They also undertake a core programme, including a BTEC qualification that hones a raft of career-related skills.

The IBCP is highly respected by universities and colleges. This is due to the academic strength of the programme, its international outlook, and the breadth of skills it develops.

ACADEMICS

SPECIALIST ib DIPLOMA SUBJECTS

Alongside the IBCP core programme, our students choose three Diploma subjects, which they take either at standard or higher level. We recommend that learners select maths and one language.

The core programme features a variety of units, which are designed to complement one another and nurture our learners’ all-round development.
  • Personal and professional skills: students gain the transferable skills they need to succeed at university, in the workplace, and beyond.
  • Language development: students learn an additional language, which supports their progression into further study, work, and leisure.
  • Service learning: students apply their knowledge and skills to meet an identified community need.
  • Reflective project (in English, French, or Spanish): students produce an extensive piece of work, focused on an area of interest.

  • BTEC Business Management, Hospitality or Sport: students complete the practical, industry-focused BTEC Level 3 Diploma.
