SIXTH FORM CURRICULUM

At our Sixth Form in Moscow, we set an exceptionally high standard, providing A-Level pathways to outstanding higher education across the world. Your child will specialise in three or four A-Level subjects and expand their skills through leadership, outreach, and extra-curricular opportunities. OUR SIXTH FORM CURRICULUM

One of the top Sixth Form providers in Moscow, ISM’s world-class A-Level programme inspires our students to hone their specialist knowledge and skills. As they prepare for university – and start thinking about careers – our Sixth Form learners become experts in their fields, typically studying four AS-Level subjects in Year 12 and three A-Level subjects in Year 13.

We offer more than 20 subjects at A-Level, including art and design, music, maths and further maths, economics, English literature, and Russian. You can find a full list of options in our Sixth Form school prospectus.

As is the case at every stage of a student’s education at ISM, their academic studies are only one part of their Sixth Form experience. We encourage all our students to learn beyond the classroom by pursuing their interests and embarking on new adventures. We organise several trips and expeditions, provide community service opportunities, and offer a plethora of activities, including sports, volunteering, music, drama, dance, and languages.

Sixth Form students are also expected to take on leadership roles within the school community, leading sports teams, social clubs, and outreach initiatives.

PREPARING FOR UNIVERSITY

At our Sixth Form in Moscow, we offer expert university guidance that will ensure your child is ready for the challenge of higher education. As well as focusing on independent study skills such as referencing, note-taking, and time management, we help our students to prepare for and complete their university applications. These are submitted during the first term of Year 13.

We also support our Sixth Formers with:

Mental health and wellbeing.
Living on your own – cooking, hygiene, and sharing spaces.
Managing and budgeting money.
Staying safe – personal safety and substance awareness.

BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

ENRICHING EXPERIENCES

In Sixth Form at the International School of Moscow, your child will take part in a variety of experiences that complement their academic studies.

From outdoor education and challenge activities to community projects, leadership opportunities, and competitions, your child will work with others, build strong relationships, and develop a host of transferable skills. We also offer The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, as well as creative, sporting, and musical After-School Activities.

Our open-plan library is a hive of quiet activity as our A-Level students work on their assignments, research, and prepare for exams. When it’s time for a break, they head to our communal breakout spaces to catch-up with friends.
