Blending the rigorous English National Curriculum and thematic International Primary Curriculum, our bespoke Elementary School program develops every child’s math and literacy skills. It also builds their knowledge across a range of specialist subjects, which are delivered through an interdisciplinary approach.

Across the curriculum, learning is personalized to the preferred styles and needs of each child, setting them up for success at Lower Secondary School.

A FUN AND THEMATIC APPROACH through the ipc

The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is an internationally renowned program, which is currently used in more than 50 countries worldwide. Through engaging themes and topics, children at our Elementary School in Charlotte, NC, learn about Science, ICT, Art, Music, Geography, History, Physical Education, Math, and Literacy. They not only discover how these subjects relate to their world, but also how they connect to one another.

Through an inquiry-based approach, our children develop their research and recording skills, and share their knowledge with others. We provide a solid foundation in phonics, for example, ensuring your child’s reading is fluent, they have an advanced understanding of texts, and their writing skills are highly developed. Taking a similar approach across the subjects develops the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in Lower Secondary.

PERSONALIZATION IN PRIMARY SCHOOL

We understand that children learn in different ways and have preferred learning styles. The teachers at our private Elementary School in Charlotte, North Carolina, create opportunities that are active, vibrant, and dynamic. They’ll consider your child’s motivations, prior experiences, knowledge, cultural understanding, and preferences, and plan approaches that engage and challenge.

To support and shape our approach to personalized learning, your child will create a ‘personalized success plan (PSP)’ with their teachers. The PSP helps each student to get to know themselves as learners, whilst enabling teachers to track progress, identify what’s going well, and plan next steps. This helps our children to become more independent and self-sufficient, as well as developing essential life skills, such as time management, prioritizing, and problem-solving.
