OUR SOCIAL PURPOSE

At BIS Hanoi, our students use their skills and talents to make a positive difference to the lives of others. Through community initiatives, our Student Councils, and global social responsibility projects, your child will stand up for what they believe in and work to make the world a better place.

A CULTURE OF HELPING OTHERS

Here at BIS Hanoi, our community is founded on strong connections and a belief in giving something back. We actively encourage our students to spearhead and engage in various community projects, ranging from fundraising initiatives for underprivileged children in local provinces, e.g. the Chalk Road project (picture above) to collaborative art projects with hearing-impaired students. We also organise clean-up events to beautify our city and much more.

Participating in these hands-on outreach projects not only helps our students make a positive impact on the community but also allows them to showcase qualities such as character, empathy, and determination.

STUDENTS LEADING THE WAY

Our Primary and Secondary Student Councils lead the way, embodying our school values of integrity, care, and respect. They also work closely with our senior leadership team to make sure our students’ voices are heard. From leading special assemblies and contributing to the design of a new playground, to food and uniform committees that increase our sustainability, our students are a genuine force for good. Both councils have dedicated teams responsible for promoting positive mental health and wellbeing, too.

OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH UNICEF

Through our collaboration with UNICEF, students take action in support of the UN Sustainable Development 2030 Agenda. Every year, they head to UN headquarters in New York to take part in the Global Challenge, which includes seminars, debates, and speaking opportunities. Activities surrounding World Children’s Day teach our students about their rights, how to protect them, and how to advocate for those who may not have a voice.

CITIZENSHIP EXPEDITION TO TANZANIA

Our expedition to Arusha, Tanzania, is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Our students work with fellow changemakers on vital community projects, learning about environmental sustainability and forming strong relationships with local people. A truly unique opportunity, our trip to Tanzania builds our students’ confidence, independence, and sense of social responsibility.

We're also committed to establishing sustainable regional and global partnerships, but our priority remains in Vietnam where there is much to do together.
