Lakers Name New Girls' Golf Coach Rick Stewart, a member of the PGA of America, is named the new girls' golf coach.

August 10 - Windermere Prep is proud to announce the hiring of Rick Stewart, a member of the PGA of America, as the new girls' golf coach. After playing on the golf team and graduating from New Mexico State University in 2007 with a degree in Business Marketing and Professional Golf Management, Stewart became head golf professional at The Healdsburg Golf Club in Healdsburg, California until 2009. From there he became the Program Coordinator and Head Teaching Professional for The First Tee of Singapore in Singapore. After working for The First Tee, Rick competed on the Asian PGA Tour for a season. After the tour, his travels took him to Sydney, Australia where he pursued post graduate education and worked at The Australian Golf Club in the golf operations department while earning his post grad degree.


He came back stateside in the beginning of 2014 and was lead instructor at Queenstown Golf Club in the Washington, D.C. area. In 2015, Rick became Director of Instruction of Topgolf Allen (Dallas, TX) and was there for 2 1/2 years before Topgolf moved him to Orlando, Florida to become the Director of Instruction of Topgolf's flagship location in Orlando. Rick transitioned from Topgolf to Metrowest Golf Club in the beginning of 2021 where he is the Director of Instruction and enjoys helping a wide range of golfers from the beginner to the elite player and enjoys seeing his students reach their golfing goals.

"Throughout the interview process, Coach Stewart shared our school's view of educational athletics and displayed the type of vision and track record to develop and mentor our high-quality student-athletes."
