Squash, peas, and carrots? Oh my! We bet you’ve never seen 90 fourth graders so excited about vegetables before! Our fourth-grade spent their second-quarter learning about the life cycles of plants and animals. Specifically, students observed the adaptations of plants and animals to examine how these adaptations help them survive in their environments. We learned that each life cycle plays an important role in the food web. Without one, all would suffer! This unit concluded with each fourth-grade class planting a class garden full of vegetables. It has been a treat to watch our plants develop from tiny seeds into seedlings. Fourth-grade is anticipating a bountiful harvest in the Spring! ~ Melissa Fagan, Lower School Director
