Last year, Dr. Tim Elmore presented our faculty with a professional development session that informed us on the ways that Generation Z needs a different type of educational experience. He took us through the various generations leading us up to our current teenagers and provided us with key indicators of the emotional and mental states of the generations as well as some of the root causes. Our teenagers are now facing more than we ever thought they would, and with new technologies, we will need to continue to adapt. As parents and educators, we all have a part in the success in how to work with Generation Z.
Dr. Elmore’s first book, Marching Off the Map, provided a great guide to understanding teenagers. We recommended that each of our faculty read that guidebook to help us connect better with the teens. Now, he has written a new book titled Generation Z Unfiltered:
