North Carolina junior and Windermere Prep Alum, Austin Bergner was selected on the second day of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers. The right-handed pitcher was taken in the 9th round with the 262nd pick overall.
In the 2019 season, Bergner is 6-1 with a 5.21 ERA. He has struck out 72 batters in 77.2 innings of work.
The Windermere, Fla. native was dominant in his last start against Tennessee, which won Carolina the Super Regional.
