Windermere Preparatory School (WPS) is very proud to announce that Junior Emilie Jean Scheetz will appear in Mad Cow Theatre’s all-female production of 1776, the Tony Award-winning musical which celebrates the creation of America’s Declaration of Independence.
Appearing in the role of “a courier” in 1776, Emilie Jean Scheetz’s past roles include: Susan in Tick, Tick... Boom!, Pennywise in Urinetown, and Drowsy in The Drowsy Chaperone at Dr. Phillips High School. She has also played Fiona in Shrek the Musical, and Bizarbara in Starmites at WPS, as well as Liza in Peter Pan at the Garden Theatre.
“I am so excited to be making my debut at Mad Cow Theatre,” Emilie said. “I’m looking forward to working with and learning from this awesome cast of talented ladies. I’d like to thank Mark Edward Smith and Mitzi Maxwell for this amazing opportunity to grow as an actor.”
Mad Cow’s unique production of 1776, which features an exclusively female cast, will run from September 23 through October 23 in Mad Cow’s Harriet Theater, located on the second floor of 54 West Church Street in Downtown Orlando.
Playing the lead role of John Adams will be Laura Hodos. The cast also includes Karel Wright as Ben Franklin; Melissa Whitworth as Thomas Jefferson; Sara Catherine Barnes as Richard Henry Lee; Janine Papine as Charles Thomson; Jac LeDoux as Andrew McNair; Whitney Morse as George Read; and Beryl Rochatka as Stephen Hopkins. 1776 will be directed by Mark Edward Smith.
