It's been a warm welcome back to campus for our Northbridge Primary students Welcome to Semester 2 at Northbridge International School Cambodia, I do hope you managed to have some time together as a family over the winter break and the students were able to relax.

Welcome to Semester 2 at Northbridge International School Cambodia, I do hope you managed to have some time together as a family over the winter break and the students were able to relax.

It has been so lovely to have the students back on campus this week and they also seem to be very pleased to see their friends and teachers again. Collaboration and sharing of ideas is key in an IB education and it is wonderful to have our students on campus and learning with, and from each other.

This semester, we also welcomed a number of new students and families who have joined our Northbridge community. In fact, we have a whole new class started in EL2 and we particularly welcome all those families, students and our new staff members; Ms Mariz, Ms Sopheak and Ms Kanika.

Speaking of other arrivals, Ms Janine arrives back on campus next week and takes over the teaching of Grade 2 Yellow, and Ms Hannah is moving into teaching a variety of classes including language support, G4 and G5 Art and MYP Design.

On Monday, our teaching staff spent our professional development day discussing the positive and negative aspects of virtual learning and critically analysing our current practices. On the whole we were happy with the student learning that took place during the school closure period, However we feel that we can also do more to encourage all students and parents to engage in Virtual Learning at home.

We are currently creating some documentation that we hope will help with this and encourage students along with their support network at home to be fully engaged in the Virtual School Experience. Whilst we hope that the students will be able to come on campus for the remainder of the year, we do also need to ensure we are ready for any eventuality.

The next few months will be busy ones as we try to both ensure that we have some great learning experiences for our students but also some fun events. We have Spirit Week coming up in February, followed by Book Week, the Moana performance, the opening of our new Aquatics Centre and some inter-house competitions. We will also be embarking on new units of inquiry as well as ongoing assessment.

Thank you for placing your trust in NISC to look after, and educate your children. I am looking forward to seeing them continue to develop and learn during this semester and beyond.
