About three years ago, we made a decision to redesign the mission of our Primary Student Council at Northbridge International School Cambodia. Rather than limiting participation to representatives of each class, we decided to open up membership to any student who wanted to make a difference in our school.
Thanks to the hard work and creativity of these students, the Action Squad has become a force on campus. Our fingerprints can be seen all throughout our school on a daily basis. Recent examples include the Walkathon to raise money for the Rabbit School, another outstanding Spirit Week, the Water Carnival, and our current launch of Movember. These activities bring unity to our school community, while making memories together.
Each event that the Action Squad has brought forward to the community has involved much planning, and included many voices in the process. Each proposal is brought forth in democratic fashion.
Students are asked to submit their ideas for future initiatives, which are then analyzed based upon their ability to impact both our local school community, as well as others. These include the local community, the natural environment, and of course you - our parents. Through this process each member can share their voice, and each member can bring their leadership to the project.
We hope that you have felt included in these efforts, and look forward to sharing the new ideas our members bring forward as we continue on our journey together. We hope to see you on campus soon at our next Action Squad event.
