Thank you to all the parents who attended the latest Northbridge International School Cambodia Parent Coffee Morning on Friday 13 September where I gave key updates and information on the strategic plan, Ms Kate presented on how parents can more effectively read with their child, and Mr Chris discussed how to best set up an environment for your child to study at home.
There is abundant research that links student success with parent involvement. However, as with all things this sits on a spectrum that varies from showing an interest to actively attending school events and parent teacher conferences. At Northbridge International School Cambodia we would like parents to remain engaged in their child's education as they continue their journey through the Secondary school chapter of their life.
Inquiry learning and teaching is not just a block in the day at Northbridge International School Cambodia. It is an approach to learning that not only helps our young people to achieve academically, but also socially and emotionally.
Reading is the basis of so much of our learning at Northbridge International School Cambodia, and is essential for success, both academically and in the wider world. We want to equip our children with the foundational skills to allow them to be able to learn in a transdisciplinary way.

“Caring hearts, ambitious minds” are the values etched into everything we do at Northbridge International School Cambodia, inspiring compassion and ethical responsibility through collaborative action. As well as working at Northbridge International School Cambodia, I’m also a parent, and I know how hard it is to establish a routine at home. So hard, that I often ask myself if routines are really necessary. It’s so easy to go with the flow! But is this really best for our children, or do routines help them?
Students in the IB programs are busy students and at Northbridge International School Cambodia we are no different. In fact I would venture to say with our great school culture and community our students are even busier! What with not only classroom school work but also the great CAS opportunities we offer and the large array of sports, that all students want to be involved in. This being the case, time management is crucial for our students.
Making has become an important part of school culture at Northbridge International School Cambodia over the past few years. Not only is making an incredibly fun and satisfying activity that children love, but it promotes a myriad of meaningful skills that we believe will serve them well in life beyond school.
