Over the last several weeks of remote learning, the PE department at Northbridge International School Cambodia has been thinking of different ways that they can encourage and support students to remain healthy and active at home. This has led to some creative challenges being set - such as the E-Olympics challenge for the Grade 5 students.

We wanted to share with just some of the exciting new activities Nord Anglia Education has planned for Global Campus, our platform connecting our 66,000 students across 29 countries around the world, including at Northbridge International School Cambodia.

The Nord Anglia Education social platform, Share a Dream (SHaD) which was launched at the end of last academic year, continues to go from strength to strength. It empowers Northbridge International School Cambodia Secondary students and teachers to get involved in social activities based on the things they truly care about to drive lasting change.

We know that Northbridge International School Cambodia students and families are very busy keeping up with their regular classwork, but we also know that many of our Makers, Coders, Scientists and Engineers are really missing their time in the Makerspace!

As we start our Khmer New Year break, I can’t help but reflect on how different this is to previous years at Northbridge International School Cambodia. I remember the traditional Khmer New Year games we have played, the performance from the Khmer New Year dancers, and the delicious snacks our parent group have provided for us in the past. Things are very different this year, but there is still much to celebrate and be grateful for.

Over the last three weeks, the creativity and passion of science teachers at Northbridge International School Cambodia has faced head on the new environments and challenges of the Virtual School Experience.

The Learning in Language and Literature department at Northbridge International School Cambodia continues despite the global health emergency. For three weeks now, our English, Khmer, Korean, and Chinese teachers have been burning the midnight oil as they transform their classes into virtual classrooms. It might have seemed impossible at the beginning, but when the ball started rolling, technology became a sweet friend.

We are pleased to announce the results of the new Northbridge International School Cambodia Parent Satisfaction Survey, and would like to thank all of the parents who took the time to complete this important annual review.

The current situation has forced schools around the world to transform their dynamic classroom lessons into online virtual classes. This is no different at Northbridge International School Cambodia, where teachers have had to find innovative ways to make learning interactive to our students during this challenging time.

Although we are all virtual learning at the moment, there are many things to celebrate and reflect on from our sporting success in Season 2. Taking a look back reminds us that although this month has been difficult and we are missing seeing our athletes on campus, the start of 2020 was excellent for our Northbridge International School Cambodia Nagas.

The Grade 5 PYP Exhibition was launched this week at Northbridge International School Cambodia. The launch looks a little different to how we have worked in previous years as students have not been on campus. Our Grade 5 students will still need to work collaboratively, research and problem-solve, but this time it may all take place in an online environment.

Our 51 Grade 10 students who are graduating from the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP) at Northbridge International School Cambodia presented their fabulous Personal Projects to the whole school community during an annual showcase day and evening.

The coronavirus (now officially named COVID-19) has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization and uncertainty around this can bring about fear and worry in our Northbridge International School Cambodia community. It is important to remember our children are looking to us for reassurance and cues on how to react and respond. But we also need to take care of ourselves so we can be ready for those who need our best.

As we navigate our way through a challenging time in history, it is important to know ways in which we can support our children at Northbridge International School Cambodia and help them manage their thoughts and emotions.

As per advice from the Ministry of Education, Northbridge International School Cambodia will close to students and parents for the next two weeks from Monday 16 to Friday 27 March. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday 30 March.
