U10 & U11 QPPSSA Indoor Athletics

The week that witnessed the best athletes in the world compete in the World Athletics Championships in Doha also saw the best student-athletes in Doha compete in the QPPSSA Indoor Athletics Championship. The NAISAK U11s & U10s Boys and Girls travelled to Doha College for the QPPSSA Indoor Athletics meet. The students had the opportunity to participate in a range of running, throwing and jumping events including javelin throw, standing triple jump and high stepper. The students performed excellently throughout the day, which saw a record number of schools competing in the event. Our U11s finished 7^th out of 13 teams and our U10s also finished 7^th out of 11 teams. The students have been training hard each morning and as part of their ECAs. Next week it will be the turn of our U8 & U9 teams to compete in their Indoor Athletics Meet.





 

U16 Boys Volleyball vs Qatar Academy Al Khor (18-25, 15-25, 24-25)

After their volleyball tournament a couple of weeks ago, the U16 boys travelled to Qatar Academy Al Khor for their first QUESS Volleyball League game of the season. Although the boys have been working extremely hard in training, which has included two-hour training sessions over the past few weeks, we travelled to QA with several players missing. However, with still a strong team, NAISAK was feeling confident going into this game. Unfortunately, the boys struggled to get a foothold into the match and in each of the three games, they saw themselves chasing down the score after conceding early points, which were difficult to claw back as the game progressed. The boys have certainly identified areas to improve on ahead of their next match and were reflective of giving away easy points through their service game. Nevertheless, the movement around the court has been a huge improvement and their ability to save points, which at times seemed unsavable, were certainly highlights. They can take this forward into their next game, which sees them face Gulf English School on 7 October.
