Last Friday saw the launch of the second unit of work for our IGCSE Art students.
Students worked with their Art teacher’s for the day to research the titles provided by the exam board, gather ideas and inspiration and seek new techniques and processes.
In the morning Miss Goppert and Miss Miller led the group through a series of workshops which taught students additional skills and encouraged them to be confident in taking more risks within their creative practice. From break-time students explored the ten titles that have been sent to them. Students will have until the beginning of April to fully explore these themes before sitting a two-day practical exam in response to their chosen theme.
"The students worked exceptionally well on the day and were really focused on finding a niche topic to explore within their theme. They were exposed to a number of new artists which covered a range of practices, cultures and eras. We are working to extend the plethora of artists that students study within their Art lessons here at BIS Hanoi to support students in becoming Global Citizens," said Miss Miller.
Having worked so diligently on their first unit, which was handed-in before the Christmas break we are looking forward to seeing what visual delights they produce in this project," she added.
