In term II, BIS Hanoi's intrepid Biology & Geography students from Year 12 made the short journey to Ba Vi national park to soak up the sunshine and learn some valuable skills out in the 'field'.
In term II, BIS Hanoi's intrepid Biology & Geography students from Year 12 made the short journey to Ba Vi national park to soak up the sunshine and learn some valuable skills out in the 'field'.
Today BIS Hanoi's intrepid Biology & Geography students from Year 12 made the short journey to Ba Vi national park to soak up the sunshine and learn some valuable skills out in the 'field'. For the Biologists, students were trying new primary data collection techniques such as quadrat sampling and kick-sampling in order to count and categorise local wildlife. They also tested the quality of the river water and assessed its pH. The Geography students began practising how to measure the shape and size of the river, as well as things like the valley gradient and water quality - all this to aid them with their Geography IA project which is to see if the river here in Ba Vi fits with the famous 'Bradshaw Model'. The students are excited for plenty more fieldwork tomorrow!
