Dear Parents,
This week BIS Hanoi has hosted the Nord Anglia Middle Leaders Training Programme. Over 30 middle leaders from around the region have been involved in collaborative, creative sessions which have focused on further developing leadership skills. Wonderful feedback about our BIS community has been received. Compliments about our students, facilities and welcoming, professional staff are all very much appreciated and reinforce what we already know, BIS is a super school!
On Wednesday, I was asked to present a session to the delegates about how our vision, aims and values permeate our campus. This prompted a visual representation of our superheroes. Guest appearances from Captain Care, Respectagain, Questionator, Indiana Integrity, Reflection Rebecca and Poppy Perseverance were warmly received and helped to explain how younger members of our community learn about our BIS Mission. Mr Webb then explained how the School refer to our values and vision in all aspects of our strategic planning. Recent changes to the KS3 curriculum, which will take effect from next year, have been made by ensuring we employ integrity when offering subject options and have respected the parents’ responses in our recent questionnaire. Mrs Carroll then brought the session to a close by sharing her first impressions of BIS and providing evidence of the impact our Superheroes are having on the children’s understanding of our values.
Next week, I will be in London interviewing for new teachers for the next academic year. Fortunately, I will be back in time for our school production of Beauty and the Beast and our annual Tet Assembly. All parents are very welcome to attend both of these events.
