Dear Parents
As I write, the storm swirls south of us. I hope that Vietnam does not suffer too badly in the next few days. We have been monitoring the weather reports and have taken steps to make sure the BIS Hanoi community stays safe.
IB Learners Share their Experience
Today’s assembly was delivered by Mr Duckett, our IB coordinator, and his team. He was strongly supported by a range of Year 12 and Year 13 students, who shared with us their passion for the International Baccalaureate. We were treated to innovative musical performances, a live basketball demonstration and a video report of a service project that began in the children’s summer holidays.
Beauty and the Beast Launch
After the presentations, the secondary production was introduced by Ms Rea, brilliantly. Students are invited to audition for a range of roles. The production will be inclusive and it will provide opportunities for students to be involved in all aspects of stagecraft. Beauty and the Beast is a musical but the production is for everyone. Children should speak to some of the lead teachers- Mr Lovett, Ms Loveday, Mr Minchin, Ms Diep- if they want to know more about participating in the show. If your child has never been part of a theatre production, encourage them to join in, it will be an extraordinary learning experience for them.

Golden Moment
It was a special moment on Wednesday evening, when four BIS students presented their International Award reflection to an audience of peers, parents and teachers. The four students, the first in Vietnam to complete the Gold Award, shared the amazing tale of their South Korean expedition. Their struggle through thick mountain forests made them feel hopeless and lost, at times. Yet, to triumph, they drew strength from each other and the skills they have learned. We are in awe of their achievement.
