Dear Parents,
Uplifting Performances by British International School Hanoi Students
Our Year 11 and Year 13 students are in the middle of the external exam calendar (IGCSE and A level). They are remaining positive and although they are weary, they are determined to do their best. Even though they have exams, some of the students took a break from their revision to support their friends at our charity concert on Wednesday evening. Without doubt, they made the right decision, as their souls received an uplifting experience courtesy of our extraordinary musicians.
The students, who performed at the National Academy of Music, were so accomplished that they looked perfectly comfortable performing alongside our professional guests: Juilliard visiting artist, Benjamin Moermond and May Duet, Pham Quynh Trang and Tran Thi Tam Ngoc.
As the pictures demonstrate, it was an incredible spectacle and a feast for our senses. A huge thank you to our student performers: Kim Min Ji (piano), Do Nguyen Bao (piano), Do Minh Phoung (Dan Tranh), Park Min Sung (piano), Pham Duy Minh (guitar), Ana Clara Guerrero Ower and Nguyen Hoang Thien Khang (vocal duet), Choi Min Kyoung (violin) and Kim Ga Hyeon (oboe).
It was a night to remember!
College and University Guidance
It was lovely to see Year 12 students and their parents attending Monday’s evening event that focused on the essential factors to consider when selecting a university place. Ms Fairburn (Guidance Counsellor) and Mr Airdrie (Head of Sixth Form) led the students and parents through a tour of opportunities. The advantages of North American, British, Korean, Australian and other national university systems were explored. Students left feeling motivated and inspired by the challenge of finding the right university place. We are all confident that, following the success of this year’s cohort, who secured places at Stanford, Columbia University and The London School of Economics amongst others, their search will be a rewarding one.
