It has been an extremely productive and positive week at British International School Hanoi. As I reported last week, we have been undertaking our CIS/WASC accreditation visit.

The visiting team have been very busy looking at all our documentation, visiting classrooms and talking to members of the school community. In this way they can have a clear picture of the school and whether we are ready to be accredited by both CIS and WASC. A detailed report will be produced by them and we should know before the end of this academic year whether our accreditation application has been successful. It has been a pleasure to host the visiting team at the school and also to receive a visit on Tuesday afternoon from Jane Larsson, who is Executive Director of CIS. Jane was in Hanoi to attend a CIS Board Meeting and took the time to visit the school and see how we were progressing.
As I also mentioned last week, today (Friday) is the final formal day at school for our Year 13 students as they now take study leave to prepare for the A Level examinations. We had the opportunity to wish them well at a Secondary assembly this morning. They have really been an impressive group of students and many of them joined the school when we opened in August 2012 as Year 9 students. They have worked incredibly hard throughout their time with us and have been a credit to the school. I am convinced they will be successful in the forthcoming examinations. As an example of their great success, I have been absolutely thrilled to see the offers that they have received from Universities worldwide:
US Universities
UK Universities
Worldwide Offers
A large numbers of the above universities are recognised as some of the best in the world. For example, there are US Ivy League Universities in the list along with UK Russell Group Universities, with a number of them being ranked in the top 25 of the of the World’s “best university list.” We still await the some offers from Asia and Australia and we will report these in due course. What an achievement by a wonderful group of students and I am proud of each one of them for being great ambassadors of British International School Hanoi.
I do hope you have a wonderful long weekend and happy “Vietnamese Reunification Day” to you all on Sunday.
