BIS Visit to Barcelona

BIS Visit to Barcelona We all had a sensational time but our students did the most amazing job generating some hilarious experiences, videos and photos that had us smiling from ear to ear. They can all be very proud of the work and behavior during this trip. It was an incredible experience for all of us!

On Saturday the 28th of May, six students and two teachers initiated the first ever BIS Barcelona adventure. 

We all had a sensational time but our students did the most amazing job generating some hilarious experiences, videos and photos that had us smiling from ear to ear. They can all be very proud of the work and behavior during this trip. It was an incredible experience for all of us!

During seven days and nights we visited famous and interesting landmarks where everybody had the opportunity to interact in one way or another with the locals, practicing their Spanish skills or why not, singing flamenco! 

La Sagrada Familia

Is one of the most famous landmarks in Barcelona so hopefully all the students were able to check it off the bucket list!

‘Mes que un club.’
The Camp Nou is the  home of FC Barcelona. We visited  parts of the stadium, viewed the trophy room and other attractions. 

The Picasso museum 
We  enjoyed some time touring the museum and seeing some of the famous painter’s works before spending some time strolling the streets of El Borne. 

Parc Guell
We had the opportunity to visit Parc Guell where we  enjoyed the beautiful views from the park and spent some time  enjoying the iconic ambience. We also went  to Passeig de Gracia, el Barrio Gotico, las Ramblas y el Borne. These are  vibrant areas with lots of restaurants, art  and independent shops.  

PortAventura 
But unarguably the more energetic day, was the one we spent at PortAventura. A huge amusement park divided into 6 themes. These include  from the Far West section, where you can take a white-knuckle whitewater raft along the Grand Canyon and get completely wet to   the Mediterranean section, where you can try the Furios Baco, the fastest rollercoaster in Europe and get really scared, really quickly! 
It was an extravagant experience that we are willing to repeat next year!!

From the students..

The Barcelona trip was one of the best trip I’ve ever been to until now. Everything was good….except for the arriving flight to Paris which was too long  and the hotel room which was small. My favourite part of the trip was mostly the shopping part. if not,  then it definitely has to be the visit to the Camp Nou, It felt great to go to a place where soccer superstars such as Messi, Suarez or Ter Stegen play and train but there was the Port Aventura amusement park which was awesome especially the “Dragon Khan” rollercoaster that we went on, still I’d rate Port Aventura as an honorable mention. I felt like I matured over the course of this trip notably, I am less dependent on my parents. I would love to participate or get involved in this kind of trip in the near future.

My favorite part of the Barcelona trip was going to the theme park. I had my first Roller-coaster in my life in Portaventura It was  wonderful and it made my day.  The place was so  huge that I was not even able to go to all the activities. It was also the first time that I was away from my parents traveling alone. It was very cool. There were no pressures on me to do anything that I didn’t want. (Except for the  roller-coaster which took some persuasion!). I tried delicious new food as Paella and tortilla and we visited very cool restaurants such as The Hard Rock Café!
