‘Keep Healthy, Stay Safe’ was the moto in Primary this week as we all celebrated the importance of an active, healthy and safe lifestyle. The aim was to promote life-long learning and healthy lifestyles for all. The activities covered a diverse range of related issues including; making healthy snacks, learning about our bodies and what we need to fuel them, inventing games that keep us fit, preventing sun damage, whole class exercise sessions, water polo and water safety, yoga and staying safe when crossing roads and cycling. There was also an opportunity to use augmented applications on the iPads to explore the heart and respiratory systems, as well as retrieving information using the Quick Response (QR) codes. It was a very busy and vibrant week as you can imagine! We finished off the week with a fun assembly to celebrate just how active we are at BIS, whether it be competitive sports, recreational games or through play. Each class produced a video to represent the different ways we can look after our bodies, followed by a whole Primary school Zumba dance. The EYC then completed a full zumbathon of none stop dance for a whole session starting with F1 with each year group up to Year 2 joining in for one big finale dance. It was great fun! The children have been amazing and each and every one has improved their health and fitness throughout the course of the year. Throughout the summer holiday remember - Keep Healthy and Stay Safe!
