A welcome break from our usual Virtual School routine
On Tuesday (June 1st), our KS3 students competed in their first Virtual House Competition, called "The Lockdown Games." Their Heads of Year assigned them four fascinating assignments in which they could earn points for their house. Towards the end of the game, the House with the most winning points was crowned champion.

Primary Assessment Week at BIS Hanoi
Each year, towards the end of term, BIS Primary students participate in an assessment week to support the teacher’s judgement of student attainment over the year. This year, it has moved online and for the last two weeks, our teachers and teaching assistants have been extremely busy carrying out individual student assessments, the results of which will be shared with you in the student reports soon.

Caps and gowns were delivered to students today so that everyone is ready, and we hope that all our families and friends of Year 13 students have a fantastic day.

Year 6 students are well prepared for the transition into Secondary school
The final term of Year 6 is very busy and thrilling, but it is also a very emotional time for our students when they begin to bid farewell to their Primary lives and look forward to the start of their Secondary journey. A fun and challenging STEAM Week at BIS Hanoi
Last week students from Years 1 to 6 participated in the Virtual STEAM Challenge. For three days, one per phase group, a prerecorded video launched the challenge. Each student was required to research, and then perform a scientific experiment whilst filming and presenting a ‘TV show’. They were encouraged to watch an episode of Emily’s Wonder Lab on Netflix for inspiration.

On Tuesday morning, our teachers and support staff were already set-to-go for Virtual School. Although we would always rather be teaching face-to-face, we all understand safety comes first and so our second phase of Virtual School begins. Our average attendance of over 96% across the school shows how students of all ages have made this seamless switch into an alternate way of learning.
