BIS Hanoi students participated in the Youth for Climate Action
On Tuesday, I had the privilege of taking four BIS students to UNIS to take part in a Youth for Climate Action event. Ngoc Anh and Thanh Mai from Year 10 and our UNICEF ambassadors, Thu An and Angela from Year 12, worked with students from UNIS, HIS and Concordia.

BIS CAS Week (Creative - Activity - Service)
At BIS Hanoi, we value learning outside of the classroom environment and traditionally arrange a residential trip for Year 12 students to Mai Chau as part of their IB CAS programme. However, due to COVID, this cannot take place this academic year 2020-2021. Therefore, our IB team devised an alternative 4 days off timetable that aimed to foster similar skills to those acquired during the residential trip, particularly team building and community service.

Out of over 1200 entries from over 25 countries, the essays of two BIS Hanoi recent graduates, Valerie Lua and Kieu Quoc Thai, have been shortlisted and published in the final book, which displays all of the winning pieces.

Our amazing Winter Concert 2020
Thursday, 3rd December, saw over 150 students from across the school perform in our Winter Concert. This event brought together students from Year 2 through to Year 13 to share their Performing Arts learning from both ECAs and the classroom. The Auditorium was full, the audience was excited and the students rose to the occasion: without exception each ensemble performed superbly.

Primary STEAM and the MIT Challenge
This term, Year 6 have been working on completing their entries for the first of this year’s MIT Challenges. The challenge requires students to design something to help astronauts eat, play sport, or do exercise more easily when they are in space. The lack of gravity in space means that eating a bowl of noodles is almost impossible, the soup and the noodles would be floating all over the space craft.
