2021 STEAM Festival
This week eight of our students from KS3 took part in the NAE SEA STEAM Festival. Despite it taking place virtually due to COVID restrictions, our students still enjoyed the full benefits of the festival, collaborating and sharing ideas with students from other countries in addition to applying their coding skills.

Primary STEAM and the MIT Challenge
This term, Year 6 have been working on completing their entries for the first of this year’s MIT Challenges. The challenge requires students to design something to help astronauts eat, play sport, or do exercise more easily when they are in space. The lack of gravity in space means that eating a bowl of noodles is almost impossible, the soup and the noodles would be floating all over the space craft.

Unique collaboration with MIT: “Into the Void” STEAM Challenge
At BIS Hanoi, we are very lucky to have a unique collaboration with MIT, the world's leading technology University. This term has seen MIT launched their “Into the Void” challenges, focused around Space exploration. These challenges are a great way to get our students interested in the world of STEAM and see how what they design and make today can influence the world of tomorrow.

Prof. Leia Stirling sets you an Epic Identity challenge!
Superheroes are known to possess special powers or gadgets that enhance their identity. Inspired by the work of Prof. Leia Stirling at MIT’s Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Epic Identity challenge encourages our students to look into wearable technologies, and how they are used to measure, enhance or help human performance.
