Dear Parents,

I am delighted to share the highlights of last week's World Book Day, a celebration that brought the magic of literature to life in our school. It was a week filled with enchantment, imagination, and a deep love for reading. Here's a glimpse into the wonderful activities and events that took place:

🎭📖 Fantastic Costumes Galore
Our school was transformed into a vibrant tapestry of characters as the children arrived dressed in their wonderful book-themed costumes. From superheroes to princesses, pirates to animals, their creativity and enthusiasm were truly remarkable. A heartfelt thank you to all the parents for their efforts in making this day so memorable.

📚🛍️ Book Sale Success
We extend our gratitude to everyone who generously donated books for our Book Sale. The children were overjoyed as they explored the wide array of titles and carefully chose their new book. Your kind contributions not only enriched their personal libraries but also supported the love for reading and the joy of discovery.

🐛🎭 The Hungry Caterpillar Performance
Our special assembly was a true spectacle as the entire staff came together for a memorable performance of "The Hungry Caterpillar." The children were captivated by the colourful characters. A special thank you to Ms. Lewsey for organising this delightful play and creating the stunning costumes that brought the story to life.

🕵️‍♂️🔍 Becoming Book Detectives
Throughout the day, the children embraced their inner book detectives as they deciphered the book clues displayed on the classroom doors. Their eager minds and inquisitive spirits led them to unravel the mysteries, guessing the titles of some of their favorite stories.

🌟✨ Promoting Love for Reading
World Book Day was a resounding success, fostering a deep love for reading and storytelling among our young learners. The event served as a powerful reminder of the wonders that lie within the pages of a book, sparking their imaginations, and transporting them to new realms of knowledge and adventure.

Looking ahead, we have exciting adventures planned for this week as well. Tomorrow morning, our Reception children will embark on their thrilling Sea Scout Expedition, at Clear Water Bay, exploring the wonders of the sea and beach. On Thursday, our Nursery children will visit Lion's Nature Park, immersing themselves in the awe-inspiring beauty of nature. These experiences will undoubtedly create cherished memories and deepen their connection and understanding of the world around them.

Thank you for your ongoing support and enthusiasm. Together, we are nurturing a community of young readers, igniting their imaginations, and instilling a lifelong love for the stories. Wishing you all a great week ahead.

Your sincerely,

Ruth Hanson
